How do I transfer my DVR shows to my laptop?
I have cox cable's scientific atlanta dvr. i have a dell xps laptop w/ windows media center edition. i also have dell's external tv tuner. i want to know how i can transfer recorded shows from the dvr to my laptop. do i have all the correct gear? do i need software? i can hook everything up and even get the computer to recognize some sort of input (they are calling it "angel usb mpeg device". but again, i can't seem to find any of the shows or "data" in order to make the transfer.
any info would help.

From my experience with the TV tuner capture card for my laptop (PCMCIA TV Tuner Capture Card) I had to set up the capturing/editing software so that it would receive via the s-video and RCA audio jacks plugged from the DVR into the capture card. Then I would have to play the show and capture the show on the laptop in a MPEG format, then I could watch or burn it to DVD.
